In 1980, Dr. McCord began her career in Los Angeles. In 1995 Wendy left L.A. to move to Arizona. She now practices in Prescott and Mesa, Arizona. Dr. McCord is the author of the book: Earthbabies: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Times (2004). She has continued her lifelong passion for horses and horse training and now incorporates the horse in her practice. She has produced a video: Between Horses and Humans: Eight Parenting Lessons from the Horse's Mouth (2004). Dr. McCord is a world recognized expert in Pre- and Peri-Natal Psychology. From 2007 - 2010 she was Co-President of the Association of Pre- and Peri-Natal Psychology and Health (APPPAH). At the present time she is a board member of the Gladys T. McGarey Medical Foundation. This Foundation is dedicated to the education of Holistic Health for families and especially birth practices.
